Ryan Moves to Auburn, Alabama

In one week I will be moving to the great state of Alabama … Auburn, Alabama to be precise. South Carolina just wasn’t “Deep South” enough for me so I figured another couple hundred miles south ought to do it. I have never been to Auburn so I’m sure it will be an adventure. It sounds like it’s basically a college town. South Carolinians say it’s “Clemson without the lake.” The project will be in a sister mill of the one I am in now so it shouldn’t be too rough a transition – of course it will be a whole new set of people I’ll be working with which could be a challenge.

Since I’ve never been to Auburn, and only once to Alabama I thought I’d see if there were any interesting statistics about the state. I found out the obesity levels there are the third highest in the nation – bested only by the healthy lifestyle leaders West Virginia and Mississippi. This is actually a good thing because I’ll be able to pack on the pounds and still feel skinny.

I will post more as I make the transition to my new home in the coming weeks. If anyone knows anything about Auburn, feel free to chime in!
