The Postal Service is weird
My apartment must the the short-term apartment because I currently get mail from the 5 previous residents. I can’t even tell who was the last tennant because I get about an equal amount of mail for all 5 of them. I only get mail about 1x per week, but the 5 previous tennants get multiple pieces a day. Every few days I go through all the mail, cross out the old tennant’s name and write “return to sender, no longer lives here.”
I noticed this past week there is a nametag on the inside of my mailbox with my name and one of the previous tennants on it. When I saw this I folded the nametag to only show my name. Yesterday morning I got a nastygram from the mailman instructing me that I was not to alter the nametag. Ummm, hello – that person no longer lives here! Why would I keep their nametag on the box if they don’t live here? I guess things work differently in South Carolina. So, it looks like I’ll keep getting mail for the previous tennants and I’ll keep putting it back in the mailbox. Perhaps this ensures job security for the postal workers.
Ummm, is it possible to go to the post office and tell them that they should do something about it?
Maybe you would get rid of the annoying mails of the prev tenants, and well, at least it is worth a try.

I’m coming out to the US for a couple of weeks, flying out this Saturday 3 March to New York. I know you’ve recently moved so I probably won’t see you when I’m there, but thought I’d drop you a line just in case you fancied a trip to New York or Boston in the next few weeks.
Going to be in New York my first week, then up to Montreal for a long weekend; back to New York for another week and then I think Boston for a week before I come back to London.

I feel your pain!! I am also in a condo used by many previous travelers and they get more mail than I do!! The life of a constant traveler is at times crazy.
